Level editor - 1.2.0

This week was awesome!

I worked (on my spare time) on a new version of the game during this week and am pleased to “present” to you the level editor for Dungeon Swap-R.

I relied on Firebase (Google) for the Sign-in/up & the database for storing the levels, you can now build your very own levels & share them with others.

This is extremely exciting for me as I had issues regarding the difficulty scaling of the game.. Not to spoil but you’ll tend to see that fake paths on rooms & increasing the number of them, tend to increase the difficulty real quick! Which is also why there aren’t that much levels made by myself as I’m still learning here! I can’t wait to see the levels you’ll come up with!

I must confess that I should have worked on that kind of tool earlier (at least for internal use) as the level creation process is much more natural & gives more space to creativity & experimentation.. but you never know what you gonna do & sometimes, you tend to let this kind of devs’ on the side for the sake of quick development (which is usually not… ^^).

You basically just have to draw the solution on screen & input the characteristics of all of the rooms & can test the level anytime. Then you can save it online & publish it just by solving the level yourself!

I’m not sure where we’re heading as it’s clear we still miss few features, securities & sanity checks but I just couldn’t wait anymore to put it out there! It was a real pleasure to develop & it allowed me to XP a lot on all this! (+ Had a good laughter when trying to solve a level made by my wife which was priceless :D)
